Google Checkout Converts up to 40% More Than Traditional Websites

Today I saw a great post in my Google Reader titled, “Five Reason Why Google Checkout Converts Better”. Ronald Patiro over at GrokDotCom talks about why customers who use Google Checkout are 24% to 40% more likely to convert than those who go through a traditional website. I won’t rewrite his post, but I’ll give you a brief overview and link to the article.
1. Google stripped unnecessary steps from checkout The form is simple. No fax numbers, no entering your email twice.
2. It’s two pages!
3. Google always give assurance on each Call to Action. Customer always knows what to expect before they click to the next page.
4. Link to Return Policy is on the second page. Although I think it should be on the header or footer of every page on an ecommerce site.
5. Google shows customers which product their ordering
If you’re thinking about starting an ecommerce site or want to try something new because your ecommerce store is not converting, I suggest you checkout Ronalds’ post at GrokDotCom
