Alcohol & Drug Rehab at the Watershed

One of my closest friend’s mom recently decided to get help for her alcohol addiction. She is fifty years old, and finally realized she has two young, teenage sons who she wants to be there for, for the next fifty years.

She has been drinking a 1/5 of Jack Daniels for about 10 years. She wakes up every Saturday morning and has one of her sons get her 7Up to help her hangover. Before she started drinking she had time to take her boys to soccer and softball practice on Saturdays and now her sons don’t play sports because she became unable to drive them to practice every Saturday.

My friend feels guilty that he might have caused his mom’s alcoholism because he started getting bad grades, so he overcompensates by staying home on Saturdays to help his mom instead of going out and hanging with his friends. Watershed will help him understand that he didn’t cause his mom to drink and that he can’t fix the problem.

The Watershed is a drug & alcohol rehab facility that recognizes addiction is a family disease that affects the whole family. It’s a vicious cycle that can effect everyone close to the victim and can only be stopped when the alcoholic/drug addict admits they need help.

12-Step Involvement

Your personal recovery plan will be based on the proven methods of medicine, psychiatry and psychotherapy combined with the time tested 12-Step program of AA and NA. The philosophy at the Watershed is to blend continuous, intensive, structured care with the proper support system. Each Watershed patient is introduced to an appropriate 12-Step Fellowship and given the opportunity to attend daily 12-Step Support Group meetings, both in house and in the community.
