Accoona to Go Public

It is almost impossible to imagine that one day there could be a more valuable search tool than Google; or even a contender for that matter. It’s inevitable that there will be big changes in the search engine game very soon, as Google is almost too ubiquitous.

Accoona

The young company Accoona, Inc. could be a surprise challenger and give Google and other top search engines a run for their money. On August 3, 2007, Valentine J. Zammit, Accoona’s CEO and President– a former CEO at True North Diversified Comapnies and at Bozell, Jacobs, Kenyon & Eckhardt, Inc–officially filed the company’s registration statement to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

Strength in Chinese Market

Since Accoona opened it’s virtual doors in February 2004, one of their focuses has been on creating relationships in the European and Chinese markets. In China, Accoona started strong relationships with official government and affiliate sites which has helped position Accoona’s to be the next BIG search engine. They’ve also s

Technology

In order to be successful in the search game these days you have to be able to offer a search technology that is innovative, efficient, revolutionary, etc.. If you’re Accoona you could pull off all of the above. Accoona’s search technology uses a new and different algorithm to browse and search. Their artificial intelligence technology “understand the meaning of the query” and therefore gives better search results.

State-of-the-Art Search Engine

Accoona offers state-of-the-art search features such as an interactive tool called “Super Target Your Search” which enable you to focus your search by settings parameters such as: publisher, date, persons or compaines mentioned. You can also use their multi-lingual search feature and search by English, Chinese and many European languages.

Strategy

Accoona operates six Internet retail websites, and the combined revenues of Accoona’s businesses in the field made Accoona one of the top 10 consumer-direct electronics retailers in North America by online revenue, and one of the top 55 consumer electronics retailers overall (according to TWICE’s list, “Top 100 CE Retailers”).

Accoona has acquired many e-commerce companies so as not to be squashed by Google from the beginning. This is another brilliant move by Accoona and another reason they will be a serious contender in the ferocious search engine biz. Many companies would not be able survive the competition from Google, but Accoon understood that in order to withstand the challenge, they’d have to use a multifolded business strategy.

Accoona’s Chinese search site Accoona.cn has been online since December 2004 and consistently receives millions of business queries.
